Winning Wines for 2015

Gold – Fort Simon Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Silver – Fort Simon Merlot 2013

Two Fort Simon wines recently won gold and silver awards respectively at the 2015 Michelangelo International Wine & Spirit awards. The wines, both from our premium Fort Simon range, are the Fort Simon Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 and the Fort Simon Merlot 2013. The Michelangelo International Wine and Spirits Awards, originally the only international wine competition in South Africa, is unique in South Africa. All judges are hand-picked wine experts from all seven continents around the globe. More than 165 different judges from 43 countries have served on the panels since the competition’s inception in 1997. The competition annually receives between 1700 and 1800 wine, brandy and liqueur entries from both South Africa and international producers around the globe. These are judged blind by panels of 5 judges, using the 100-point international OIV system. Visit the competition results page to see the results of this year’s competition. Congratulations to our winemaker Stander Maass & the entire team at Fort Simon ! For more information on these wonderful award-winning wines, click on the links below :
